In loving memory
26 June 1971 – 13 September 2026
Nikolaus spent his happiest hours outdoors, at ease among the animals he loved — here, hand-feeding kudu in the bush, exactly as those who knew him best would picture him.
Computers were his other great love, and one that never let up. He got his first computer at eight years old, taught himself to program, and never looked back — still to be found at 4am teaching himself a new language or framework, simply because he could.
What made it complete was combining the two things he cared about most: using computers to serve Jehovah, on Bethel's Programming team. Outside of that, it was Jehovah and family, always.
When it came to choosing a flower to represent him, sunflowers were the obvious choice. To us, they capture him exactly as he was.
Happiness
Content wherever he was — most of all outdoors, at ease among the animals he loved.
Loyalty
Married to Santie for over thirty years, and just as devoted to Jehovah and to Bethel's Programming team.
Adoration
Jehovah and family came first, always — nothing came before them.
Resilience
Still pioneering, still serving, still teaching himself something new — right to the end.
The milestones that shaped his story.
